Embroidered Polo Shirts should look fantastic when they are worn by your employees but all too often they look poorer in terms of quality and look than the common or garden printed polo shirts. Why does this happen you may ask yourself, well the answer is in the detail.
It is a common misconception that embroidered polo shirts are easy to design, it’s just a matter of taking a logo and sticking it anywhere on the shirt. In fact nothing could be further from the truth. When it comes to designing a logo for embroidery and number of factors need to be taken into consideration. Firstly what is the fabric of the polo shirt, how dense is it, can it take a very detailed design? With printed polo shirts it makes no difference because the logo simply sits on top of the fabric regardless of how many colours it contains. However with embroidered polo shirts the thread actually becomes part of the garment and can very easily affect the way it feels.
Take for example a circular design of approximately 3” in diameter. If the design is very dense it will require a lot of stitches and can make the shirt stiff in that area. That would ordinarily not present a problem to women who are probably wearing a bra however men who did not wear vests could get a serious case of nipple rub. This may sound amusing but it can be extremely painful.
By talking to your promotional clothing supplier and explaining where the garments will be worn and by whom you can ensure that you order the correct style and fabric. There is little point in ordering printed polo shirts for a top class restaurant any more than there is any sense ion ordering embroidered polo shirts for your kitchen staff.
